What I'm talking about is the Detroit Red Wings. They had just broken an NHL record for the highest winning streak at home with 23 wins. This can make any Detroiter or Red Wings fan extremely proud, of course. I know I am! Unfortunately, that streak had to come to an end yesterday. Against Vancouver. In a shoot-out.
The fact that we came so close to winning again but ended up losing in a shoot-out to a team that's right on our tail in the standings is disappointing, to say the least.
To tell the truth, I'm kind of diasppointed in Jimmy Howard. I hate to say it, but I am! While he was gone, Joey MacDonald did a very gone job in his place. He helped in the winning streak! Then, the two games Howard is back, the team loses. I know it's not all completely Jimmy's fault, but it just strikes me as odd that that would happen. What if Joey Mac stayed in net yesterday?
I also feel really bad for Jimmy, losing his two games back. But I know he'll come back from it, because he is an amazing goalie that's part of an amazing team. I have confidence that they'll pull off an exciting post season in their 21st straight playoff appearance (which is another thing to be proud of).
Oh and one last thing...
Darren Helm scores the first goal of the night
GO WINGS!
